District Operating Levy Passes; Thank You to Our Community

Thank you! Your continued support of the District gives us the ability to provide a world-class education to our community’s most cherished asset: our children. Like public school districts across Ohio, we have been navigating rising costs, flat local revenues and state and federal cuts. Money from this operating levy will help us maintain basic day-to-day operations such as staff salaries and benefits, computers, materials, extracurricular activities and more. Most important, an investment in public schools is an investment in the future. It means that Shaker Heights will continue to be known as a community who takes pride in our excellent schools and we will continue to attract and retain families and students from all across the region.

We would also like to congratulate the new members of the Board of Education, and thank all candidates who ran for their ongoing engagement and support of the Shaker Heights Schools.

In addition to voters, we thank the many organizations and civic leaders who supported this ballot issue, including the Shaker Heights Board of Education, the Shaker Heights Teachers’ Association, OAPSE Union 153 Shaker Paraeducators & Bus Monitors, the League of Women Voters, the Shaker Heights Democratic Club, the Shakerite and many elected officials. Finally, our sincere thanks to the Committee for Shaker Schools for their tireless work on behalf of our children and our community.
