Charles Dorsey Appointed Principal of Lomond Elementary School

Charles Dorsey has been selected as the next principal of Lomond Elementary School. The Shaker Heights Board of Education approved Mr. Dorsey's appointment at yesterday's meeting, and he will begin his new role on August 1.

With more than 20 years of experience in K-12 education, Mr. Dorsey most recently served as principal of Bolton Elementary School in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. During his time at Bolton, he led the school's instructional program while fostering a positive culture built on high expectations for students and staff. He also prioritized strong partnerships among families, the school and the broader community.

“Mr. Dorsey is a student-centered leader who has demonstrated a deep commitment to students, building meaningful relationships and creating school environments where every child can thrive,” said Assistant Superintendent of Learning & Teaching Dr. Felecia Evans. “His collaborative leadership style, instructional expertise and dedication to partnering with families make him an outstanding fit for the Lomond community. We are excited to welcome him to Shaker Heights.”

Prior to his time at Bolton, Mr. Dorsey served in a variety of educational leadership and instructional roles, including assistant principal, intervention specialist and teacher counselor with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Euclid City Schools and the Positive Education Program.

Mr. Dorsey holds a bachelor's degree from Baldwin Wallace University, a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from Cleveland State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Ursuline College.

The Lomond Elementary School community is invited to a ‘Meet & Greet’ event for new principal Charles Dorsey from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, August 10, on the Lomond playground (weather permitting). In case of inclement weather, the event will take place in the Lomond gym.
