Shaker Rising Video Project Archive

The Shaker Rising Video Project features District administrators, teachers and community members—all of whom will answer questions related to detracking at Shaker Heights Schools.

We hope these videos help our school community better understand why detracking is important, how it will be implemented at our schools and how it will positively impact our students’ success.

Video #1: Dr. JeffriAnne Wilder, Former Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Dr. JeffriAnne Wilder, Former Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, launches the District’s Shaker Rising Video Project. This special project features District administrators, teachers and community members—all of whom will answer questions related to detracking at Shaker Heights Schools. In this video, Dr. Wilder answers the questions, "What is tracking?" and "How can we learn more about detracking?"


Video #2: Matt Simon, Coordinator of the Innovative Center for Personalized Learning

In this second video of the Shaker Rising Video Project series, Matt Simon, Coordinator of the Innovative Center for Personalized Learning, answers the question: What if we maintain the status quo and continue to track students?  


Video #3: Jayce Bailey, Shaker Heights High School Math Teacher

In this third Shaker Rising Video, Shaker Heights High School Math Teacher Jayce Bailey answers the question, "How will course consolidation affect instruction?"

In the fifth video of the Shaker Rising Video Project, Shaker Heights Schools parent and Equity Policy Implementation Team Member Sangeeta Prakash answers the question, "What are my concerns about detracking and course consolidation and how can we address them?"

Shaker Rising Roundtable: Detracking

On Wednesday, October 7, the District hosted Shaker Rising Roundtable: Detracking, a panel discussion among Shaker Heights Schools administrators. The panelists included:
