Chromebook Repair Drop-off and Pick-up

The Shaker Heights Schools IT Department will utilize self-service, secured drop-off and pick-up lockers for student Chromebook repairs and replacement parts needed during the extended school closure. A Chromebook Help Desk Service Ticket must be completed and submitted BEFORE dropping off your Chromebook for repair.

These lockers will be located in the High School main entrance lobby and is accessible during the following days and times:
  • Monday-Friday mornings: 7 a.m.-10 a.m.
  • Monday-Friday evenings: 4 p.m.-7 p.m.

The lobby will be closed on the weekends. 

Please note:

  • For the safety of our students and families and to protect Shaker facilities and property, there are several security cameras in the High School lobby.
  • Exercise social distancing when accessing the drop-off/pick-up area. Six people are permitted in the lobby at one time. If six people are in the lobby when you arrive, please wait outside or in your vehicle until someone leaves. Then, you may enter the lobby.

Chromebook Repair Drop-off

  1. Complete and submit a Chromebook Help Desk Service Ticket
  2. Shaker Heights Schools IT Staff will send you a confirmation message via email that includes your assigned locker (there are two main lockers identified by a letter, E & F) and your assigned door number, which will be located within the locker. 
  3. Remove your Chromebook from the case. Bring your Chromebook and your charger to the locker. 
  4. Arrive at the Shaker Heights High School lobby weekdays 7-10 a.m. or 4-7 p.m. and locate your assigned locker.
  5. The display screen on the locker will read “Using the keypad, enter a door number to unlock or lock.” Enter your assigned door number and press “OK.”
  6. You will be prompted to enter a four-digit code of your choice. Enter your chosen code and press “OK.” You will be prompted to enter that same code a second time. Enter the code again and press “OK.”
  7. Your assigned door will be unlatched. Open the door all the way and place the Chromebook inside.
  8. Firmly press the locker door closed and listen for a “click” to confirm the door is securely closed. Please do not slam the door. The door light will turn green when it has been properly closed. 
  9. A Shaker Heights Schools IT Staff member will notify you when your repair has been completed and when your Chromebook is ready for pickup.

Throughout the extended closure, the Shaker Heights Schools IT staff will do its best to facilitate timely device repairs.

Chromebook Repair Pick-up

  1. Shaker Heights Schools IT Staff will send you a confirmation message via email that your Chromebook is ready for pickup. The email will include your assigned locker, your assigned door number and a four-digit code to unlock your assigned door. Be sure to have this email handy when you leave to pick up your device.
  2. Arrive at the Shaker Heights High School lobby weekdays 7-10 a.m. or 4-7 p.m. and locate your assigned locker.
    The display screen on the locker will read “Using the keypad, enter a door number to unlock or lock.” Enter your assigned door number and press “OK.”
  3. You will be prompted to enter the four-digit code you received in the email. Enter this code and press “OK.” 
  4. You will hear and see your assigned door pop open. Open the door all the way and remove your Chromebook.

If you have another issue or if your original issue was not resolved, please complete and submit another Chromebook Help Desk Service Ticket.
