2021-2022 Shaker Heights Schools Health & Safety Guidelines

Click here to review the District's 2021-2022 Health & Safety Guidelines developed based on guidance from local, state and national agencies. Please keep in mind that health and safety protocols may change based on new information. The District continuously reviews these guidelines in response to changing guidance and will notify families and staff members accordingly.

Champions Child Care

Champions Child Care, a division of KinderCare, provides before- and after-school care for students in Grades K-6 at all five elementary school buildings, as well as Woodbury. Information regarding registration, hours and fees/rates can be found at their website:

PaySchools Central/School Fees

All school fees are loaded onto student accounts and can be paid through PaySchools Central. This includes the $35 supply fee for Grades K-6 as well as the $25 activities fee for Grades 7-12. (The K-6 supply fee covers all student supplies, with the exception of gym shoes, an art shirt or smock, backpack and lunchbox. Students in Grades 7-12 are required to provide their own school supplies, and supply lists will be provided by your student’s teachers.)

If you are new to the District, you must create an account by visiting

You may also select the optional One2One Chromebook coverage for just $25 through your PaySchool Central account. You can learn more about this valuable protection plan by visiting

Bus Assignments

All bus assignments are to families via Here Comes the Bus. This website and app allow families to view the location of the bus and get updates if there is a change, delay or breakdown. If you have not already signed up for Here Comes the Bus, please visit and follow the instructions to get set up.

Shaker Heights Schools App

The Shaker Heights Schools app allows you to stay up-to-date with your child’s specific school. You can enable notifications for emergency alerts and reminders for school events and subscribe to building-level calendars to automatically keep your mobile calendar up-to-date. The app is available for download for free in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Student Handbook Review

All families and students should review the student handbook annually. The 2021-2022 handbook can also be found on the District's website:

Annual Student Information Update

Families are notified via email to complete their Annual Student Information Update at the beginning of each school year. This important step ensures the schools have the most up-to-date information on file for each student. Important Note: This email does not appear in the typical District formatting and comes from [email protected]

School Breakfast and Lunch Information

School breakfast and lunch are being provided to all students at no charge for the 2021-2022 school year as the USDA has extended the universal free lunch program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This does not include a la carte items. All menus are available on a month-by-month basis on our website: As always, students are also welcome to pack their own lunch from home.
