Summer Reading for Shaker Heights High School English (Summer 2010)
Go

The summer reading program for English includes the books listed below. When students return to school in August, they should have read the books carefully, and they should be prepared to discuss and write about them in their classes.

While the English Department does require that students read these assigned works, we also encourage students to read for pleasure throughout the summer. We believe our students’ lives will become more enriched through reading.

The Shaker Public libraries and local bookstores will be notified of this assignment. We recommend that you purchase the books and consider ordering new or used books on line. With a personal copy, students can make marginal notes and refer to each book when classes begin. Preferred paperback editions have been indicated, but other editions are acceptable.

The teachers of the English Department look forward to working with you when classes begin in August.
