Cole Wade (SHHS, '19) Receives National Gold Medal in 2019 Scholastic Art Awards
Cole Wade, StigmaNovember 3, 2019—Congratulations to Cole Wade (SHHS, ‘19) who received a National Gold Medal in the 2019 Scholastic Art Awards for his printmaking piece “Stigma.” Nearly 340,000 works of art and writing were submitted to the 2019 Scholastic Awards. Cole’s work was selected by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts for excellence in originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Receiving a National Medal places him within the top 1% of all submissions! From the National winners they selected a group of pieces to be part of the ART.Write.Now touring exhibition. Cole’s piece will be part of this exhibition, displaying at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts from January 2, 2020-February 1, 2020. Cole is currently pursuing a fine arts degree at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
