Join Us: Community Forum on Food Insecurity in Shaker Heights
Join the Shaker Heights Chapter of the League of Women Voters and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank for a community forum titled "Food Insecurity in Shaker Heights" at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 13 at the Shaker Heights Main Library, 16500 Van Aken Blvd. Hunger is a growing problem in Shaker Heights and it is estimated to impact more than 5,000 residents yearly, including children, adults and seniors.
 
The forum will examine questions about food insecurity including:
  • How big is the problem?
  • What are we doing about it?
  • How can we do better?
The forum's panel of experts, city representatives and volunteers will include:
  • Loren Anthes, The Center for Community Solutions
  • Keith Langford, Family & Community Engagement Coordinator, Shaker Heights Schools
  • Kimberly LoVano, Director of Advocacy & Public Education, Greater Cleveland Food Bank
  • Tres Roeder, Shaker City Council
  • Representatives of the Little Free Pantry in Shaker Heights.
The event is free and open to the public.
