David Boyer Named Director of Operations
July 3, 2018—David J. Boyer has been named Director of Operations at the Shaker Heights City School District, effective July 1, 2018. Mr. Boyer will oversee Facilities Maintenance and Custodial Services, Food Services, and Transportation.

Mr. Boyer has more than 25 years of experience working with public schools, both at area districts and as a business consultant. Most recently, he was the Director of Business Affairs and Operations for Warrensville Heights City Schools. Mr. Boyer also has held similar positions at Ashtabula Area City Schools, Painesville Township Local Schools and at Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools. Throughout his career, he has served on committees focused on labor and management, strategic planning, policy development, budget reduction, operating and bond levies and facilities planning.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Boyer served as a Platoon Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. His combat experience includes tours in Grenada, Panama and Iraq for Operation Desert Storm.

“David possesses the expertise, skills and leadership experience necessary to successfully oversee operations at the District,” said Dr. Stephen M. Wilkins, Interim Superintendent of Shaker Heights Schools. “He is a team player who is committed to improving efficiencies and ensuring that District operations support student success.”

Mr. Boyer holds a degree in Business Management from Lakeland Community College/Cleveland State University. He is currently working toward a second degree in Business Administration from Myers University.
