Shaker Schools will remain closed Wednesday, September 5, 2018, because of extreme heat. The National Weather Service forecasts high temperatures and high humidity. This combination produces a heat index of nearly 100 degrees. Temperatures are expected to fall to normal levels on Thursday and Friday.
Please note the following information.
- Extracurricular and after-school events are canceled.
- The Shaker Schools will provide bus transportation to non-public schools and CTE program students.
- The Fernway First-Grade Curriculum Night is rescheduled for Wednesday, September 26 from 7-8 p.m. at Boulevard Elementary.
- The Woodbury Curriculum Night is rescheduled for September 13 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Please refer to the District Calendar on shaker.org for the event schedule.
Shaker School Employees:
- All clerical staff (OAPSE Local #149) report to work.
- Security personnel (Local #152) do not report to work.
- Custodial personnel (Local #200) should contact their supervisor.
- Administrators, supervisors and administrative assistants report to work.
- For any staff member(s) who does not not have access to an air-conditioned space, please discuss attendance instructions with your immediate supervisor.
