Two Fernway Students' Art on Display in Columbus Feb. 17-March 16
February 7, 2018—Artwork by two Fernway students will be displayed in Columbus, Ohio from February 17-March 16. Both artists are students of Fernway Art Teacher Wendy McGuffin-Cawley.

Second-grade student Zara Craig's drawing of two surfers was selected for exhibition at the 38th Annual Youth Art Month Exhibition at the State Teacher's Retirement Systems Building.

Third-grade student Elliott Hannah's colorful mandala, a circular symbol used in Buddhism and Hinduism, was selected by the 2018 Ohio Art Education Association's Young People's Art Exhibition. His artwork will be on display in the Rhodes State Office Tower. Elliott's mandala is one of 130 pieces created by students in grades K-8 selected for the state-wide juried art show.

The Ohio Art Education Association sponsors both exhibitions. The Ohio Art Education Association—a professional organization for art teachers in Ohio that works to promote the arts and recognizes quality student art through the state through various exhibits at the state and regional levels—will host a reception and awards ceremony at Rhodes Office Tower on Saturday, March 3 for the artists, their families and teachers.
