Two Shaker Graduates Among Pulitzer Prize Winners
Two Shaker Heights High School graduates were among those honored as 2016 Pulitzer Prize Winners, announced Monday, April 18.

Wesley Lowery ('08) was a part of a team from The Washington Post that won the National Reporting prize for "Fatal Force," a project that examined the number of deadly police shootings throughout the United States in 2015.

Kathryn Schulz ('92) won the Feature Writing prize for her story "The Really Big One," an in-depth look at the Cascadia fault line. Schulz is a staff writer for The New Yorker.

This is the 100th year for the prizes, which were established by Columbia University in 1917 and named for newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer. There are 14 journalism categories, honoring print newspapers, as well as magazines and digital news organizations.
