Ohio Civil Rights Commission Awards High School Senior
Shaker Heights High School senior Isabel Wang has been selected as one of two winners for the 12th grade Writing competition for the 2017 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Art, Writing & Multimedia Contest, sponsored by the Ohio Civil Rights Commission with support from PNC, Honda of America, and Wright State University.  You can read Isabel’s winning entry here.

Approximately 900 entries were submitted for this year’s contest with one or two winners being chosen from each grade. The annual contest's goal is to encourage students to reflect upon Dr. King’s life, philosophy and impact on the Civil Rights movement and present day America.

The contest winners will present their entries and accept their awards at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Art, Writing & Multimedia Contest Award Ceremony on Thursday, March 2, in Columbus.
