Lyle Yost Wins Third State Diving Championship; Chachi Gustafson 2nd in State in 100 Yard Fly
Congratulations to SHHS seniors Lyle Yost and Chachi Gustafson! At the February 23 OHSAA Division I Swimming and Diving State Championships, Lyle became the first boys diving champion since 1961 to win back-to-back-to-back state titles and Chachi finished second in the 100-yard butterfly after an exciting outside-lane-come-from-behind swim! Excellent season, Lyle and Chachi, and way to finish off your careers as Raiders. Good luck to Lyle and Chachi next year, when they compete as Buckeyes on the Ohio State Men's Swimming and Diving team!


Alex Nicholson Named Head Football Coach
Shaker Heights Schools has named Alex Nicholson Head Coach of the High School Varsity Football Team. Mr. Nicholson will also work as a teacher at Shaker Heights High School, beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.

Mr. Nicholson was chosen after an extensive interview process that included a panel of teachers, administrators, counselors and parents (Middle School and High School), alumni and current and former Shaker football players. Read more about Mr. Nicholson.


Najee Lockett Wins 170 lb. District Wrestling Title
Undefeated junior Raider wrestler Najee Lockett (38-0) is the North Canton Division I District 170 lb. champion! Najee is Shaker’s first District Wrestling Champion since 2008. Congrats Najee and good luck next weekend at the State Championship!


Raider Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent
Seven Raider student-athletes recently signed their National Letters of Intent, committing to participate in their chosen NCAA sport (left to right): Josh Ailiff, Erie Community College (Football); Rasheen Ali, Marshall University (Football); Elizabeth Brown, Swarthmore College (Soccer); Nasir Rashid, United States Air Force Academy (Football); Will Schinabeck, Bates College (Lacrosse); Makari Stanberry, Urbana University (Football); and Molly Stewart, Denison University (Soccer). Congratulations to all these athletes and thank you for your hard work—on and off the field—as Raiders!
