Shaker Hockey Defeats Lake Catholic 4-2; Advances to District Semifinal vs. US

The Shaker Hockey team rallied from a 1-0 1st period deficit to defeat the Lake Catholic Cougars Wednesday night in an OHSAA Kent District State qualifying contest at Kent State's Ice Arena.
Keenan O'Toole scored the tying and go-ahead  goals for the Raiders with Mark Sauerland adding the 3rd Shaker goal early in the 3rd period.  After a late Cougar goal cut the Shaker lead to 3-2, Evan Richards sealed the win with a short-handed goal with 1:12 remaining in the contest.
The Raiders now advance on to Saturday's OHSAA Kent District Semifinals to face University School in a 7:30pm contest at Kent State.  Saturday's first District Semifinal matchup will pit Gilmour vs. Mentor at 5:00pm. 
The semifinals winners will meet in next week's District Championship at Kent State for a trip to the State Final Four.
