May 20, 2019—The Shaker Heights Middle School PenOhio team brought home the first place Middle School team trophy at the PenOhio State tournament held at Lake Erie College this past weekend. PenOhio is an individual and team competitive writing competition for middle and high school students.
The eighth-grade team took first place with two students placing in the top six: Sophie Yingling earned first place and Hannah Whitney earned fifth place. The seventh-grade team took third place with two students placing in the top six: Sara Hauck earned second place and Sam Srivastava earned fourth place.
