Dear Shaker Heights High School Families,

A number of students have contacted me about an Instagram post that contained an inappropriate and absolutely unacceptable racial slur. SHHS values all students, and I assure you that hateful speech of this type will not be tolerated.

We are continuing to investigate this matter. The Shaker Heights Police Department is also aware of the situation. 

 

My thanks to those students who contacted me. This is a good example of students seeing something, then saying something.

Our staff has been briefed on the matter and stands ready to offer counseling and support to any student who needs it.
