Don't Forget! Set Your Child's Google Account Permissions

Google Apps for Education opens enhanced opportunities for students to collaborate and access learning. During the 2016-2017 school year, Shaker Heights Schools will begin the process of providing student Google accounts.

In order to ensure an efficient transition for students to Google accounts, the District has made a slight amendment to the original rollout plan regarding how parent/guardian permission is granted.

For students in grades 9-12, parent permission will be on an 'opt out' basis. As a result, all High School students will be provided a Google account unless the District is notified by a parent/guardian that they should not. The High School Opt-Out Form below can be used to opt out a high school student.

Students in grades K-8 still require a completed permission form before they will be supplied with a Google account. The permission form is available at the link below:

*Note: If your student was in the fourth grade during the 2015-16 school year and you already completed a Google permission form, you do not not need to complete the online permission form referenced above. It is, however, recommended that you visit the information site to learn more about this initiative.
