Shaker Athletics has a new website and a new high school conference!
The high school athletics department has created a new website just for Shaker sports: shakerathletics.org. This new website will be the "go to" place for all athletic information including up-to-date sports schedules and results for your favorite Raider team, required forms, athletic code of conduct, list of coaches and a page for each sport. There will still be team pages/photos on the District's website but each will soon link to the new athletics site.
Shaker Heights High School’s athletic teams joined the Greater Cleveland Conference (GCC) beginning with the 2015-2016 school year with six other high schools to re-form the GCC. The other schools that joined the Greater Cleveland Conference are Brunswick, Medina, Mentor, Solon, Strongsville and Elyria. The seven schools entering the new league are similar communities in size, with similar numbers of student-athletes.
In Shaker Heights, 20 varsity programs and more than 21 junior varsity and freshman teams are affected by the change in leagues. All told, more than 600 student-athletes will benefit from the athletic opportunities the GCC will provide.
