Read About the Success of the Middle Schools Boys Lacrosse Program

The Shaker Heights Middle School Boys Lacrosse team finished in 2nd place in Division II in the Ohio Middle School Lacrosse Association State Tournament on May 16th and 17th. The team beat Worthington McCord Middle School 12-5 in the first round, Anthony Wayne Middle School Lacrosse Club 11-9 in the second round, Hyatts Middle School 8-7 in the semifinals and lost to Strongsville Middle School Lacrosse Club 9-16 in the finals.

The team also finished in 2nd place in the North Coast lacrosse Championships on May 31st. The team beat Kenston Middle School Lacrosse Club 10-3 in the first round, Hudson Middle School Lacrosse Club 12-2 in the second round, Jackson Middle School Lacrosse Club 10-4 in the semifinals and lost to Strongsville Middle School Lacrosse Club 8-9 in the finals.

The team finished with a record of 18 wins and 3 losses. The team was coached by Doug Hubbard, Ben Cohen, Chris Fletcher, Greg Meyer and Jon Nace.

Team members include Shaker Heights Middle School students: Britt Anderson, Carter Belk, Will Bowling, Emet Celeste-Cohen, Kelan Coate, Ben Corbin, Ethan Gimbel, Evan Grossman-McKee, Tristan Hart, Carlos Hill, James Hubbard, Jeff Hubbard, Peter Jones, Trent Meyer, Joe Morford, Gus Nace, Ben Ritts, Will Schinabeck, Ethan Weingart and Gesu Catholic School students: Nate Conry and Matt Sullivan.

All 19 team members that attend Shaker Heights Middle School made either the 3rd Quarter Merit Roll or Honor Roll.
