Mark Desmond was named Assistant Transportation Supervisor effective March 30, 2015. Desmond has been with the District for the past 13 years, first as a Security Monitor and then as Night Safety and Security Supervisor since 2008.
In his new role, Desmond will assist in the day-to-day management of school bus operations to ensure that Shaker students receive safe and efficient transportation for school and co-curricular activities. He replaces Eric Brunton, who accepted a position as Transportation Supervisor for Twinsburg City Schools.
Prior to joining the Shaker schools, Desmond worked as a Law Enforcement Specialist for the United States Air Force and as a police officer and EMT in Arkansas, where he developed a wide range of experience with students, schools and the community.
“Mark’s excellent management skills, matched with his security experience, will ensure the Shaker Schools Transportation Department continues to provide safe and timely bus services for our students,” said Transportation Supervisor Jake Albanese.
