Learn More about Monday's Solar Eclipse

August 18, 2017—The total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21 is a terrific opportunity for Shaker students to see the solar system in action. We've compiled some resources below for your child to learn about the eclipse and how to safely watch this exciting celestial event!

In Cleveland, a partial solar eclipse will begin just after 1 p.m. and peak at 2:30 p.m. (Only viewers in 14 U.S. states will witness the total solar eclipse.) Currently, clear skies are predicted, so catch the eclipse if you can! Please note: it will not be safe to look at this eclipse at any time in Northeast Ohio without approved protected eyewear or solar filter.
