MAP Testing for Grades 2 and 3

Lomond will give the computerized MAP tests to determine our 2nd and 3rd grade students' instructional level in Reading and Mathematics. MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. And with MAP tests, we can administer shorter tests and use less class time while still receiving detailed, accurate information about your child’s abilities. Over the next two weeks, Lomond 2nd and 3rd graders will spend a total of about 80 minutes completing these tests.

If a student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) or a 504 plan, he or she may be eligible to take the test with accommodations.

The results of the test should be available in June. At that time parents will receive a report of their child’s scores.

You can access a site to practice the MAP test at the following address: http://warmup.nwea.org/warmup_start_educators_map.html. Note: Browser minimums are: Chrome (v23) or Safari (v6).
