Shaker NAACP Youth Chapter Hosts Immigration Discussion
March 21, 2017 — The SHHS NAACP Youth Chapter will host Jonathan Bartell of Margaret W. Wong & Associates on Thursday, March 23 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the High School Upper Cafeteria. Mr. Bartell will speak about the executive order that bans immigration from six Muslim-majority countries and what it means for those with immigrant status. Iranian immigrant student Maryam Hiradfar will open the evening by sharing her experience and adding personal context to the discussion. All are welcome to attend, especially those with immigrant status, lawful permanent resident status and Muslim community members. Email any questions to David Peake.
