Shaker Heights Schools Honored With State Communication Awards

COLUMBUS, OH – April 10, 2017 – The Ohio School Public Relations Association (OHSPRA) recently recognized Shaker Heights Schools with three Achievement Awards during its annual state Spring Conference in Columbus, Ohio held on March 23-24.

Shaker Heights Schools received a Mark of Distinction award for the District promotional video titled "A World of Opportunities." Mark of Distinction awards are presented to entries that receive a score of 90 percent or higher. Videos were judged on content, creativity, visual style, audio and production quality.

Shaker Heights also received a Mark of Distinction award for the infographic titled "It Just Adds Up." Marketing materials in this category were judged on goal, grammar, clarity, editing and visual impact and appeal.

A Mark of Excellence award was given to Shaker Heights for the annual quality profile "Measuring What Matters." Mark of Excellence awards are given to entries that receive scores between 80 and 89 percent. Special Purpose Publication entries were judged on content, design, writing, editing, graphics, photography and print quality.

Achievement Awards recognize exemplary school public relations and marketing plans, marketing materials, websites, videos, print newsletters, special purpose publications, photography, writing pieces and e-newsletters. The competition is open to all public or private schools and districts, career and vocational centers and education-related organizations across the state.
