District Hires Dr. Lois Cavucci as Interim Director of Human Resources

Lois Cavucci pictureDecember 12, 2017— Dr. Lois J. Cavucci, has been named Interim Director of Human Resources. The Board of Education approved her appointment on Monday.

Dr. Cavucci is a seasoned human resources management and leadership professional with extensive experience in planning and executing strategic initiatives to hire, supervise and evaluate staff members.

Most recently, she served as the President and CEO of Lumen Christi Catholic Schools in Youngstown, where she oversaw the merging of five elementary schools and four Early Childhood Learning Centers under one governing structure, reversed a 12-year decline in enrollment by six percent over two years, and launched a successful Annual Campaign. Prior to her work at Lumen Christi, she was principal at Our Lady of Peace School in Canton where she increased enrollment and reduced personnel expenses by $100,000. Dr. Cavucci also was an Assistant Superintendent/Director of Personnel and Human Resources with the Youngstown Catholic Diocese, where she oversaw 900 employees at 36 schools across six counties.

Since 2010, Dr. Cavucci also has served as an adjunct professor, teaching four online courses to students in the Master’s Degree Program at the University of Dayton. 

“Dr. Cavucci’s breadth of experience in human resources and her results-driven mindset makes her the ideal candidate to serve as Shaker’s interim Human Resources Director,” says Stephen Wilkins, Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations. “Lois cares about people and their success. Her leadership will enable the District to continue providing first-class HR services for all of our employees. We are excited to have her join the Shaker team.” 

Dr. Cavucci earned her Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master of Science in Educational Administration and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership—all from Youngstown State University.
