5-12 Interim Reports Will Go Electronic in 2015

Beginning in 2015, parents of students in grades 5-12 will be able to access interim reports online using ProgressBook. Interims for grades 5 and 6 will be available on February 3. High School and Middle School interims will be available in ProgressBook in the third quarter of the school year.

Special education staff members who provide progress updates on goals on Individual Education Plans (IEPs) will continue to send home paper copies. Paperless options are being investigated for the future.

Reports for PreK-4 will remain unchanged for now.

Using ProgressBook for interims at Shaker’s three largest buildings will result in significant savings in paper, staff time, and postage costs. The school will make direct contact with parents of students whose performance is cause for concern.

To make this successful, all families need active ProgressBook accounts. If you have never set up your account, your registration key will be mailed to you shortly after the first of the year. If you have an account but have forgotten your username or password, please see the ProgressBook Help page.

ProgressBook can be accessed through any computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection. Families who do not have online access may request a paper copy by notifying their student’s guidance counselor.

This is an important step toward the District’s ultimate goal of going electronic when possible with grade reports, schedules, and student placement notifications.
