ABC News Special on Shaker Schools To Air on August 18

ABC has scheduled a tentative date of Wednesday, August 18 at 10 p.m. EDT to air "The Reunion," a documentary on integration in the Shaker Heights schools.

Produced by Paul Mason '73, who was recently promoted to senior vice president of ABC News, the documentary traces the experiences of Mason's classmates in his kindergarten class at Ludlow Elementary School, one of the earliest integrated cohorts to go through the Shaker schools, as well as those of current students and their families. The documentary team spent several months this spring on location in Shaker Heights and in Italy with the Shaker Heights High School marching band's performance tour.

The ABC documentary is the second national network piece this year to focus on Shaker Heights. A CNN special, keyed to the 50th anniversary of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision, aired in May.

The ABC schedule is subject to change, so it is advisable to check local listings. ABC's Cleveland affiliate is WEWS-5.
