Superintendent Thanks Community for Levy Passage
On May 6, the voters of the Shaker Heights City School District passed a 9.6-mill operating levy, with 4,735 votes cast in favor of the levy and 2,547 against. Following is a statement from Mark Freeman, Superintendent of Schools.
On behalf of the Board of Education, the staff, and the current and future students of Shaker Heights, I want to thank the community for its vote of confidence in our schools. The passage of the levy will enable the School District to continue providing a top-quality instructional program, an outstanding faculty, and the broad range of opportunities that characterize a Shaker education.
Special thanks go to the hundreds of parents, graduates, employees, students, and friends of the schools who helped with the campaign. The breadth of support demonstrates how deeply Shaker residents value education.
We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary support Shaker residents provide to education, and we will continue to do our best to help every student reach his or her potential.
