Native American Singer-Storyteller To Perform In Free Concert
SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio – Jack Gladstone, a nationally known Blackfeet Indian singer, songwriter, storyteller and lecturer, will give a free public performance at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, at Shaker Heights Middle School Auditorium, 20600 Shaker Blvd. The program, “Native Reflections,” is a musical, visual narrative interpretation of Native American culture.
Gladstone founded a lecture series for Glacier National Park, organizing and delivering presentations on Blackfeet history and culture. The interweaving of mythology and song is so popular the “Native American Speaks” series has been presented an award for “excellence in the Interpretation of American Indian culture” by the Council for American Indian Interpretation.
Gladstone is masterful at blending legend, history, and metaphor into song. With his knowledge and insightful communication skills, Jack enlightens his audience and provides an alternative perspective of humanism, with reverence and concern for the world and all the living beings within it. From his touching and uplifting songs to his epic ballads of historical events and biographical profiles, Jack presents a clear picture in our minds of what has transpired with Native Americans.
