March 27, 2008 — Ten Shaker Heights Middle School students of Latin won more than 50 awards in creative contests and academic tests at the Ohio Junior Classical League Convention held in Columbus March 7-9.
In Certamen (a team quiz game), the Middle School’s team of Terry Conlon, Matt Krantz, Claire Lo, and Hannah Lyness finished first in the state. Claire Lo earned distinction by placing among the top 10 students at her level in each of the nine academic tests administered, which earned her tenth place in the state in the Overall Academic Awards category for total test points.
