February 8, 2008 — Parents and legal guardians of children entering kindergarten this fall are invited to attend a special Open House. Parents will have an opportunity to learn all about Shaker’s kindergarten program, meet the principal, teachers, and fellow parents, and begin the registration process.

Kindergarten Open Houses are scheduled as follows:

All Open Houses begin at 7 p.m., with the exception of the Onaway Open House, which will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Parents who cannot attend the Open House at their child’s assigned school are welcome to attend another school’s Open House.

Regular hours at the Registration Office, 15600 Parkland Drive, are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Ohio law requires that all children complete a formal kindergarten program. Children who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2008, will be eligible to enter kindergarten this fall. The 2008-09 school year will begin on August 26.

Only children whose parents or legal guardians are residents of the Shaker Heights City School District may attend the Shaker schools.
