Wesley LoweryWesley Lowery, ’08, is a national correspondent for The Washington Post, where he covers issues of race, justice, law enforcement and politics. He has been the paper’s lead reporter on the Black Lives Matter protests. He was a lead reporter on the team awarded the 2016 Pulitzer Prize and George Polk Award for National Reporting for its coverage of fatal police shootings. Wes is the author of the New York Times’ bestselling book “They Can’t Kill Us All: Ferguson, Baltimore and a New Era in America’s Racial Justice Movement.” Prior to joining The Post, Wes was a reporter for The Boston Globe where he contributed to the paper’s Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings. Wes is a graduate of Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism where he served as Editor-In-Chief of The Post, the campus’s independent, student newspaper. While at Shaker he spent two years as Editor of The Shakerite, four years as a member and leader of the Student Group on Race Relations, and three years as a Minority Achievement Scholar.
