About the Foundation
Welcome to the Shaker Schools Foundation’s website. On behalf of the Foundation’s trustees and staff, I invite you to learn about our work.
The Shaker Schools Foundation was founded in 1981 to support the Shaker Heights City Schools. Community leaders established the Foundation to provide supplemental, private funding of enrichment opportunities for faculty and students. The Shaker Schools Foundation was the first such institution in the state of Ohio to support a public school system.
Our mission is to provide resources to enrich the educational experiences of students in the Shaker Heights City School District. Primarily, the Foundation helps expand classroom instruction at all grade levels with grants to teachers and for projects; makes awards to individual students to recognize their academic success and encourage their pursuit of advanced studies; and provides support for improvements to learning environments, such as the recent technological and aesthetic renovation of the High School’s Small Auditorium and Large Auditorium.
Please join me in supporting the Shaker Heights City Schools by making gift to the Shaker Schools Foundation. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and gratefully accepts contributions to its annual fund, Auditorium Campaign, and endowment. Bequests and memorial gifts are welcome, and donors also have the option of establishing a special fund within the Foundation. All gifts are tax-deductible.
By upholding the District’s reputation for excellence, the Foundation plays a role in developing outstanding students, attracting and retaining excellent teachers, maintaining high quality schools, and delivering results that keep the Shaker Heights City Schools in the national academic spotlight.
Your support will make a positive impact on every Shaker student and the entire Shaker community. For more information, contact the Shaker Schools Foundation at (216) 295-4329.
Thank you.
