Superintendent Search Timeline

September 14, 2018:
Board of Education issues a Request for Proposal to search firms to bid on recruiting services for a superintendent candidate. 

November 9, 2018:
Board of Education announces its selection of national search firm Ray & Associates Inc. to recruit the next superintendent for Shaker Heights Schools. 

November 30, 2018:
Community members are invited to fill out the Leadership Priority Survey. Responses to the survey will inform the process of developing Shaker Heights Schools’ leadership profile, which outlines the essential skills the community seeks in the District’s next superintendent.

December 12 & 13, 2018:
The public is invited to two community meetings to share their input on the next superintendent’s leadership profile. 

December 14, 2018:
Leadership Priority Survey closes.

December 19, 2018:
Board of Education finalizes superintendent profile. Superintendent position is posted.

Mid-February 2019:
Top candidates are presented to the Board. Ray & Associates assists Board in selecting finalists for interviews. 

Early March 2019:
Interviews with finalist candidates. Finalists introduced at public meeting(s). 

Late March, 2019:
Announcement of new superintendent.
