Nine-court tennis facility opens in September 2016

The District is pleased to announce that it will replace the tennis courts during the summer of 2016. Construction on the tennis courts began on May 9th with an anticipated completion date of September 10, 2016.

District Wins USTA Facilities Grant

We are pleased to announce that the Shaker Heights City Schools was awarded a $20,000 facility grant from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Facilities Assistance Grant Program on May 24, 2016.

The USTA provides these grants to promote the game of tennis by improving courts across the country and developing the growth of tennis from local communities to professional games. One of their core values is to encourage diversity and inclusion to touch all of America, making tennis available to everyone. To read a copy of the award letter, click (here).

New Tennis Courts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Saturday, September 10, 2016

The District will conduct a dedication ceremony for the tennis courts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Special guests include the members of the School Board and City officials, and representatives of the business community and community organizations. Special recognition will be given to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Facilities Grant Program.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed by a tennis play day from 9:30 a.m.– 11:30 a.m. for the general public. The High School Tennis Team, local pros and tennis enthusiasts are all invited to play and celebrate the game of tennis.
