Why did the District hire a search firm and appoint a project manager?
The District has hired Finding Leaders, a search firm based in Cuyahoga County. The firm has provided search services for many school districts across the state and was hired by Shaker Heights Schools for its expertise. Finding Leaders will work with the District’s Director of Professional Learning Dr. Erin Herbruck, who also has taken on the role of Project Manager on this search. Dr. Herbruck will ensure that the consultants meet Shaker standards and expectations in terms of recruiting and vetting a diverse candidate pool. 

If I know someone who may be a good candidate, whom should he/she contact?

Will the District consider internal candidates?
The District will consider all qualified candidates, including those who currently work at Shaker Heights Schools.

How can I be an engaged community member in this search process?
Community members are invited to fill out this High School Principal Search Online Survey. Your responses will inform the process of developing the High School Principal profile, which outlines the essential skills we seek in our next High School Principal. In addition, the District will host focus groups to consider the input of various school and community groups. For consistency, the focus groups will be asked the same questions that appear on the survey.

How can I receive updates and news on the High School Principal search? 
All High School families will receive updates on our search process. Other interested community members may subscribe here to stay up-to-date on the Superintendent Search Process and receive news and updates via email.

When will the search conclude?
The District expects to announce the next High School Principal in early May for approval at the May Board of Education meeting.
